Minako (Mina) Yamazaki Sensei 6th Dan

Minako Yamazaki Sensei was born 8th February in 1985 in California and began Shindo Jinen Ryu Karate-Jutsu training at a very early age with Kaicho her father. 

Her training also includes extensive time spent in Japan, where she was appointed by the  second generation Konishi Soke as one of the qualified instructors to teach the original Shindo Jinen Ryu katas.

Mina Yamazaki Sensei graduated in 2008 from the San Francisco State University (SFSU) with  a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Radio and Television. While at SFSU, she served as the  Communications Director of KSFS (SFSU Radio Station). 

Mina Yamazaki Sensei is a Certified JKR Instructor, Certified USA Karate Coach, National Champion and was a USA Karate Team Member. She has competed in the world championships in Paris and Bremen. She teaches seminars in both kata and kumite in dojos throughout the United States and around the world.

She is a regular visitor to the UK and assisted in the establishment of the JKRUK in 2003.

Her accomplishments include;

  • North American Cup Bronze Medallist – Kumite 2014

  • North American Cup Silver Medallist – Kata 2014

  • USA Team Member at the WKF World Championships

  • Multiple-time National Champion WKF Ranked athlete

Mina Yamazaki Sensei is the Head Instructor at the JKR USA Hombu Dojo in Garden Grove, California.  As a key leader in JKR, she serves as a member of the JKR USA and International Yudanshakai Executive Council.
