We would like to tell you about how we look after your personal data….

 On the 25th MAY 2018 The new GDPR (GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION) laws will come into effect. It will provide you with a higher level of control over your personal data and how it is used. It will replace the DATA PROTECTION ACT.

 

What you need to know…

 Your personal data is unique to you and the JKR-UK are fully aware that we must protect your confidentiality.

 

How we use personal data

We use and collect your personal data at three different levels;

  • DOJO: Instructors collect personal information to maintain an emergency contact record, health and Safety, at risk and grading record. They will provide Licence and membership to the JKRUK.

  • JKRUK: Keep a record of the licence application for issuing new and renewal licences. Dan grade applications are also maintained. Instructors CRB/DBS records will be kept, and an appropriate qualification record will be maintained, this would include First Aid, National and International judges and referee’s qualification. 

  • JKR INT: Are only provided with a name and rank at the time of during new and licence renewal. DAN grade applications are supplied before a grading and held as record in the USA and Japan should you pass or fail.

  • We will not provide, sell, market or give your data to any third party. We will only provide your data to the appropriate authorities should a criminal act, personal endangerment issue arises.

  • We will ask you if you wish us to be informed of seminars, gradings and various international events.

Your Rights

 You have the right to object to how we process your personal information. You have the right to access, correct, sometimes delete and restrict the personal information on you. You have the right to complain to us and to the data protection regulator.
